Sammy & Gene's 'flight to school' fund

Our mission is to raise enough money to purchase plane tickets allowing two extraordinary boys to attend college in the States. A one-way plane ticket from Pago Pago, American Samoa to the United States is over $900 (1,040.85 to be exact)- and we need two of them. Sammy & Gene have been accepted to attend college in the States but lack the financial means of getting here- please consider helping. I believe every child deserves the right to education these two boys have worked especially hard to get to where they are today.
About Sammy: Sammy is a graduating Senior at Tafuna High School who has lived on his own (with his younger brother) for the last two years. His father became ill and his mother and siblings moved to the US to be with him. Unfortunately his father passed way and the family could neither afford to fly home or pay for the 2 boys to come to the States. Regardless of this hardship Sammy has worked hard to remain an exceptional student. He is a member of the Nation Honor Society, plays on the Tafuna Warriors football team, and was the winner of Island Wide National History Day Award for 2008. He has a bright, courageous, and determined spirit. Sammy has been accepted to the New Mexico Military Institute http://www.nmmi.edu/index.htm & San Francisco Community College.
About Gene: Gene is a graduating Senior of Tafuna High school. He too has lost his father and his mother struggles to provide for him and his sisters. Gene has earned a football scholarship to West Hills Community College in California (http://www.westhillscollege.com/district/about/history.asp). He is a member of ROTC,Tafuna/ All Stars Football team, and also won the Island Wide National History Day Award for 2008. He is a kind hearted, smart, young man of faith.
Both of these boys go to school and work full time at McDonalds; however, their wages of $3.00 an hour is not sufficient for the cost of living and college savings.
I realize the economy is not good; money is tight. So I have prayerfully considered starting this Pledge Page however I believe this to be true:
* When you give out of faith -you are blessed in return
* As a mother of four if I could not financially provide for my children (who had the potential and desire to further their education) my hope would be to receive help from others.
* I believe these boys to be wonderful people who have amazed me with their maturity & drive. They have left a huge heart print on my spirit since I have met them. I would love nothing more than to help them receive a college education.
* Finally as Anne Frank once said “No one has become poor from giving". No donation is too small if 200 people gave $10, or 100 people gave $20, or 20 people gave $100…we would make a wonderful difference in the lives of two young people.
